With the recent tragic earthquake in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Kirk Franklin along with other award-winning gospel music artists gathered on Friday, January 15 at Quad Studios in Nashville to lend their voices to “Are You Listening,” a song they all hope will inspire those devastated as well as raise much needed funds for the rebuild efforts their lives. Proceeds from the record will be donated to charity.

Listen:
Are You Listening

What a Weekend in Charlotte with Pastor Kee

Pastor John P. Kee never ceases to amaze me as I know the Bojangles Coliseum will never be the same. He believes in "Seeding, Time, Harvest." He lived up to that on this past Saturday night where he presented the 2nd year of his "Relief" concert where I, Ju Joyner served as host. Yes the night was filled with musical talent such as Fred Hammond, LeJuene Thomson, Lowell Pye, Lil' Mo and many others, but this night was about "Giving." Pastor Kee and his Wife gave away countless items from Gift Certificates to Money. This concert has and will be the talk of the town in the city of Charlotte. Whatever Pastor Kee is trying to reap, he is well on his way to grasping it.

Day 2 of my Charlotte Trip took me to another level spiritually as I had the opportunity to visit Uncle Johns church, New Life Fellowship. With a 2 hour Praise and Worship session led by Maranda Curtis, the spirit was set when entering the sanctuary. I was in awe as the church welcomed the term "Come as you are" as saw the gentlemen wearing hats. LOL! I felt out of place because I took mine off.

For those who have had the opportunity to hear Pastor Kee sing and not preach, you have missed the total package, because he has a WORD! He is one of the only ministers besides my Dad in who REALLY feeds me that spiritual food that feeds that void.

To my friends, FRED, LOWELL, MARANDA, LEJUENE, LIL'MO, PAUL PORTER-It was great seeing you.

The Hospitality was phenominal and I want to show love to the following: AUNT FELICE, SHANNON, KEVIN, SHELIA, JEANETTE, JOY, DEBBIE MAY, and whoever made my visit awesome!

And THE BAND!!!!!! MEECHI, CHRIS, ORGAN MAN, BLAKE, AND EVERYONE IN ARGUABLY THE BEST IN THE COUNTRY!

Uncle John,
Thank You for the opportunity to host The Relief concert, It was an experience I will never forget.

What Manner Of Man Is This?

(Picture Taken By Gerard Bonner-GB Photography)

Words cannot describe what happened last night when Senator Barack Obama came to the Hampton Roads area for the 9th time. What amazed me was the people who were waiting since 6am. As the the hour drew near thousands on top of thousands gathered outside of the Harbor Park Stadium to await the arrival for a man who has captivated the world...Senator Barack Obama. As I was looking outside waiting to go in I was in awe because I was actually a part of history. The stadium holds over 12,000 indivudals BUT it was over 22,000 there. It was like going to a rock concert waiting for Michael Jackson, but we were waiting for the Next President of the United States. The crowd erupted with just the mention of his name, the chants of YES WE CAN, and OBAMA put me in a place where I said to myself "This moment will be in History books for years to come." As he came on stage just the mere sight of him would make one say, "This is Our President, but not only that one of the argue that he is one of the ALL TIME GREATS! His words will captivate you and inspire you. He has put in our mental capacity that if we feel like there is something we cannot do...we are wrong about it because YES WE CAN!

An AMAZING NIGHT!

Good People, about a month or so ago Pastor John P. Kee called me and told me that he wanted to bring the Gospel Refief Tour to the Hampton Roads area. Her insisted that we made it happen. So after talking to my father he decided to do it in conjunction with the situation going on @ the Tabernacle Christian Church. (Read about it on www.hotjoyradio.com) To make this as short as possible, as we were in preparation John called me and said "Ju, you have some haters." Some local promoters were upset that John did not go to them. I laughed because I thought about what my brother Earl Bynum told me "Favor aint fair, but it is Justifiable." SO TO ALL THE HATERS....Last night was ORDAINED by GOD!!! It was NOT to make the almighty dollar. Having said that, I had the esteem priviledge to introduce John on last night (You know.....JU JOYNER STYLE BABY!) John came on stage and the 1st thing he said "They said we were not going to come." The crowd erupted!!! The reason for that was there was a rumor that John has a habit on not showing up for concerts. GOOD PEOPLE JOHN KEE WAS THERE! He gave me some encouraging words while he has on stage. THEN THE REAL JOHN P. KEE went to work. I mean singing hit after hit John and New Life wrecked the stage for about 2 HOURS!!! The highlight of the evening was John's giving spirit. He 1st gave some money to a gentleman who was praising the lord. I mean everything in ONE of his wallets. He then asked the crowd to put $ on the pulpit/stage for the church to be a further blessing to the church. And he was the 1st to put money there. HERE IT COMES GOOD PEOPLE!! John saw a lady walking across to her seat and when she sat down John asked her "HOW MUCH IS YOUR MORTGAGE PAYMENT?" She was an elderly woman (a member of the church for over 50 years) and she could not understand what he asked, so she replied "I OWE $4,000." John replied " I WAS GONNA PAY YOUR MONTHLY PAYMENT....BUT IMA PAY OFF YOUR HOUSE!" The crowd lost it!!!
John told the crowd that he was looking for a harvest, so he wanted to plant some seeds.
Last night was amazing good people and I am ready to goto the next level. The John P. Kee concert was the greatest concert I have ever been to. He was and is a blessing. See, I am being taken advantage of in the worst way! I WILL NOT SAY NAMES but I have yet to be paid by 2 artists for SoUNDoFF's I created. I want to give one the benefit of the doubt because it is still the top of the month. And I will be overJOYed when when they bless me. The other artist has to know that I want to TESTIFY from the blessing given to me. Better yet, since I know that the artist serves an ON TIME GOD then they should know that I would love to have my money on time!
Don't get me wrong good people I am not money hungry, but I was pressured to do the job, so why do I have to wait for my money? Hey! This is how I Feel. Peace

The Weekend is here!

What's up Good People!
This week has been very productive! I am going to see Stephanie Mills tonight for the Umoja Festival. It is so relaxing to sit and listen to some smooth music. 2day was a really good day. I went to our company picnic this morning. I dont know what it is about when I get around my co-workers. It seems so fake. Crazy things are going on there and I dont know what God has but he is really knudging me and my ministry. My job is being threatened more than ever to the point that my General Manager said to Colby, Shaye and myself that she would have to make an example out of one of us. So who would be happy working in those circumstances? WOW I CAN'T BELIEVE I AM SAYING THIS!
After leaving the picnic I went to the VA GAG Conference luncheon, where I felt like it was a family. I mean Sis (The Belle) was there, My Brothers Earl Bynum & Kenny Taylor were there. My mentors Doc Christian and Mike Chandler were there. I mean there was Al Hobbs, Willie Mae Mciver, Ed Stephens (PH....Thats 4 u sis), and so many people in the industry. I had a blast! I also had a chance to get some interviews for the new season of The Ju Joyner Show.
Okay I gotta go get dressed. Peace!

Thank You

I want to thank you for checking out my blog.
